What is SpeakerBox?
SpeakerBox is a youth-led service in Southwark designed to engage, inspire, and amplify the voices of Southwark care experienced young people aged 11 to 25.
It’s more than just a platform; it’s a dynamic space where the youth can explore their creativity, develop new skills, and advocate for the issues they care about most. By providing workshops, events, and various media opportunities, SpeakerBox ensures that the perspectives of Southwark care experienced young people are not only heard but also valued and acted upon.
Our Key Programs
SpeakerBox offers a wide range of support and activities designed to engage young minds
Advocacy & Support
Children and young people currently in care or preparing to leave care can access support from an independent advocate who will ensure their voices ae being heard and understood.
Workshops & Training
Covering topics from public speaking, podcasting and media production to social justice and community organizing, these sessions help participants hone their skills.
Media Projects
Young people can get hands-on experience in creating podcasts, videos, and blogs. These projects often address pressing social issues and give youth a chance to showcase their perspectives.
Community Events
SpeakerBox organizes events where young people can discuss community issues, present their creative work, and connect with local leaders and peers.

Through training and mentorship, SpeakerBox helps young individuals develop confidence and leadership skills whilst advocating on behalf of all care experienced children and young people.

We offer a variety of creative outlets, including podcasting, video production, and blogging.
